Microblading

What is Microblading?
Microblading is a manual technique used to create single hair strokes by depositing ink into the first few layers of the skin. It gives the most natural looking results as opposed to the traditional tattoo method which deposits ink far deeper into the skin.

Does it hurt?
Most clients feel a bit of discomfort but not pain, and the sensation differs from one person to another. That's why we offer two types of topical anesthetic depending on the client's pain tolerance.

How long does it last?
Typically 1-2 yers depending on your skin type, exposure to sun, how often you exfoliate the area, etc. Yearly touch-ups are recommended.

What is the process of healing?
The healing period generally makes the work appear darker in the first few days, then subsides and sometimes almost disappears, and eventually resurfaces back at around 4 weeks. At that point you will require a touch-up appointment (4 to 6 weeks after) to go over any missed spots and to lock the colour in more so it lasts longer. This is a two step process so a little bit patience is required!

How do you choose a suitable colour?
A colour is custom-made for each client based on their natural hair colour and an understanding of their skin's undertone in order to avoid future results with grey/red/green tinted brows.

Who is eligible?
Before making an appointment we ask you a few health related questions to see if you qualify. In some cases a doctor's note may be required. This is an invasive procedure and we want your safety before your beauty!

What if I donít like it?
This procedure isn't something you have to trust your technician with blind faith. Part of the procedure is your input and participation during the "mapping" of your brows. You are expected to communicate your vision, and you will have a look beforehand at what the results will look like in pencil once the outline is in place. You will also be given a mirror to hold and see what the process is looking like at any point. There are no surprises. This is your face and you are a huge part of making your brows look the way you want.

Safety & Hygiene
We can't stress enough how important this is. Every detail counts and we keep the workplace clean and sterile. Nothing touches your skin other than sterile equipment and gloves. Our technician is blood-borne pathogen certified and approved by the health unit.

How do I prepare for Microblading?
Once you have booked an appointment, you will be sent an e-mail to confirm your date and time as well as go over recommended precautions and preparations in order to get the best results. You will also be given an aftercare kit that will provide you with the necessary information and creams you will require for the healing period. You are welcome to contact your technician personatly if you have any questions or concerns.

What is Shading?
Shading, also known as the powder or ombre effect, is a new eyebrow-filling method that is just recently gaining popularity. It is the process in which pigment is inserted into the first few layers of the skin just like microblading, but instead of using a blade made out of micro needles to make "cuts" into the skin in order to mimic hair strokes, shading uses a different tool that creates a faded shadow effect using a stippling motion. The beauty about this service is that it can be done along with microblading to give clients a fuller more filled-in and defined look (done during the same procedure, requiring a second session as well and with the same healing process) or shading can be done all on its own. Another added benefit with shading is the option to choose how strong of a look you want with the option to custom dilute the ink. You can think of it as a semi-permanent eyebrow tinting that would last you 1-2 years instead of touch-ups every couple of weeks, saving you time and money in the long run.
